I haven't shot many elk lately. Even Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone, which usually has elk lounging in front of the Post Office, was mostly devoid of them on our last visit. Here are a couple trailcam shots in the Black Hills that I found as I was cleaning up my hard drives today. They were taken with the late lamented Moultrie (camera #3), which perished in a forest fire a year after these were taken in November 2016. The camera was at my Wind Cave location when it took these images, but later I moved it 10 miles north to Custer State Park where it got destroyed. Staying at the old location wouldn't have saved it as a Reconyx (#2) and Browning (#6) also got singed at the Wind Cave location.
